Late Fall Lawn Tips

Late Fall Lawn Tips

Leaves are changing color and falling. Halloween is past us and Thanksgiving is around the corner. Here are a few late fall lawn tips to keep your Purelawn looking spectacular!

  • Feed the Roots – This is the ideal time to feed the roots of the grass.  The energy of the plant is going down into the roots of the turf, so give it some food.  This is the most important fertilizer treatment of the year.  It helps with Spring Green Up too!
  • Clean up the Leaves – Don’t let the leaves sit on the grass too long.  They can cause damage to the grass if the leaves stay on the healthy turf for extended periods of time.  Rake or mulch the leaves up with your mower.
  • Cut the Grass to 2.5 Inches – Gradually lower the mowing height to 2.5″ to help reduce the chance of snow mold fungus.  Do not cut it from 4.5 inches down to 2.5 inches though.  Gradually cut the grass down to a lower height to make sure you do not damage the turf.

Enjoy the Winter and we will see you next Spring!
